Dhaka: Twelve worshippers together with a boy died and dozens of others suffered critical burn accidents after air conditioners of a mosque burst on Friday evening in Bangladesh`s central Narayanganj district, an official stated on Saturday morning.
Samanta Lal Sen, the coordinator of the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka, advised journalists that “12 people till Saturday morning died after being admitted to the institute with major burns on their bodies.”
He stated not less than 37 injured had been rushed to the institute on Friday evening. Most of the victims suffered from 60 to 70 per cent burns, and the well being situation of 25 others can also be important.
Fire officers suspected a gasoline leak when worshippers had been about to go away the mosque after their Isha (evening) prayers at round 9 pm (native time) on Friday.
All eight air-conditioners on the bottom flooring burst into flames when there have been reportedly round 100 worshippers on the three-storey mosque.
Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Fatullah Police Station in Narayanganj, stated big blasts brought on window glasses of the mosque fly onto the road and burnt ceiling followers, wires and electrical switchboards.
Kamrul Ahsan, a management room official on the fireplace service headquarters in Dhaka, stated firemen managed to convey the flames below management after hectic efforts of round half an hour.The Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence shaped a committee to analyze the incident.
