ABB stated Thursday that it has acquired a controlling curiosity in US-based Incharge Energy, which makes a speciality of electrical car (EV) business charging infrastructure.

The maker of commercial automation and manufacturing facility robots stated the acquisition is constructed on an preliminary funding and has taken its stake within the firm to about 60%.

Founded in 2018 and primarily based in California, InCharge Energy has roughly 50 workers and is lively within the United States and Canada.

“With InCharge Energy and its service-focused customer approach, we are ideally positioned to benefit from the significant future growth of the US EV market,” stated Frank Muhlon, president of ABB’s e-mobility division, in a press release.
