A strike by bin staff in Birmingham is able to proceed after the newest proposal by town council, “heavy” was rejected.
It follows an extended stand-off of a month between the members of the Unite Union and the Labor-Run Authority, because the bin luggage and the fly-gaps have piled up excessive piles on the roads.
Unite stated town council's “partial” proposal “was completely insufficient” and didn’t deal with a attainable pay reduce for 200 drivers.
Unite General Secretary Sharon Graham stated: “Rejection of the proposal is not surprising as these workers cannot deduct this magnitude to pay the price for bad decisions after bad decisions.”
