Black advertising of black fungus medicine in UP: 2 arrested

Noida police have arrested two folks in reference to the black advertising of Amphotericin B, a drug used within the therapy of black fungus.

According to the police, the accused Anurag and Ankit labored to take injections at low costs from chemists and promote them at excessive costs within the NCR. The arrests have taken place after the UP authorities declared mucormycosis or black fungus a notified illness, with demand for anti-fungal medicine steadily growing.

“We were informed that two persons were selling drugs at a price of about six times the original price. Since these drugs are important in treatment, patients’ families have to pay more money. We tracked down a transaction and arrested Anurag, who works in a pharmacy. Anurag along with other accused acquired and sold these injections. Further investigation is pending, ”mentioned an officer on the Sector 58 police station.

According to the police, Anurag used to work as a supervisor at Apollo Pharmacy in Noida. An FIR has been filed on costs of dishonest.
