Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday stated the police wanted to coordinate on the nationwide stage to combat severe crime, however with out interfering with the rights of the states.
He informed a gaggle of IPS probationers, “There is a necessity for coordination on the nationwide stage with out interfering with the rights of the states and with out respecting the spirit of the Constitution to stop crimes like counterfeit forex, arms smuggling and drug smuggling. ” According to a press release by the Ministry of Home Affairs, in Delhi.
The assertion comes at a time when the Center has been accused of usurping the police powers of the states by growing the jurisdiction of the BSF in some states like West Bengal and Punjab.
