An on-line prankster who invaded the pitch throughout a soccer match in Dublin has been banned from attending all nationwide and worldwide video games for 5 years.
Daniel Jarvis, 37, from Gravesend, Kent, runs onto the pitch in the beginning of the match between Ireland and England on the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on September 7.
Mr Jarvis was given a restraining order at Medway Magistrates Court on Wednesday. They may even should give up their passport throughout worldwide tournaments.
Chief Constable Mark Roberts, the National Police Chiefs' Council lead for soccer policing, stated: “Jarvis is clearly an attention-seeker who invaded the pitch to get a few more hits on his social media.
“His actions were not only childish and irresponsible, but also a waste of police time and taxpayers' money.
“Also, these stunts distract security staff from their duties and it is difficult to immediately detect whether someone is posing a threat or just trying to attract attention.
“I welcome the five-year banning order imposed on him, which will hopefully give him some time to grow up and act responsibly.”
Crown Prosecution Service Wessex and nationwide soccer chief Simon Jones stated the ban order mirrored “the consequences of criminal actions at matches”.
He stated, “Daniel Jarvis repeatedly used his notoriety and platform to engage in illegal behavior.”
“The Crown Prosecution Service continues to work closely with police partners to prosecute those who are responsible for criminality in sport.”
