Former Australian cricketer and World Cup successful coach Dav Whatmore has joined as the top coach of the Baroda workforce for the upcoming home season.

Baroda Cricket Association secretary Ajit Lele confirmed the event to PTI on Friday.

“He (Whatmore) joined as head coach the day before yesterday and he will guide other coaches, other age groups as well,” Lele mentioned.

The 67-year-old Whatmore has years of expertise in top-flight cricket and was the coach of the Sri Lankan workforce that gained the World Cup in 1996.

He then coached numerous groups and Kerala remained below his tutelage within the Indian home circuit.

His final stint was with Nepal.

The BCCI has already introduced the home schedule for the 2021-22 season and this time the Ranji Trophy may even be performed because the earlier season needed to be canceled as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.
