East-MP Craig Williams accused of betting crimes

Fifteen folks, together with former orthodox MP Craig Williams, have been accused of betting offenses by the playing fee.

The investigation was launched final 12 months after the 2024 common election time.

The Commission stated that the investigation focuses on people “suspected of using confidential information – especially the advance knowledge of the proposed election date – to get unfair advantage in betting markets”.

Those allegations shall be produced within the Westminster Magistrate Court on 13 June 2025.

Prior to the election, Williams was a Conservative MP for Montgomerishire and was an affiliate of the then Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Laura Saunders, who was a conservative candidate in Bristol North West within the common election, are additionally within the checklist of those that have been charged by the Commission.
