A pair of comic Eric Morecambe's glasses have been bought at public sale for £20,000.
Personal belongings and showbiz memorabilia from his Morecambe house in Hertfordshire had been put up on the market following the dying of his widow Joan in March 2024.
The glasses had been bought with a barreling briar pipe and two photographs from the comedian. Other tons included telegrams from the late Duke of Edinburgh and letters from Margaret Thatcher and fellow comics Ronnie Barker and Tommy Cooper.
This public sale happened in 1984, greater than 40 years after Morecambe's dying, and included over 700 tons.
