Greater Manchester University suspends Vice Chancellor

The University of Greater Manchester has suspended its Vice Chancellor after “serious allegations”.

Professor George Holmes, who has led the college for 20 years, has been suspended within the establishment together with two senior members of educational employees, previously often known as Bolton University.

This comes after the college began an unbiased investigation in latest allegations in regards to the establishment in Bolton.

A spokesman for the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) mentioned that the power was investigating its investigation “allegations of financial irregularities in the university”.

The power spokesperson mentioned that the police investigation “reviewed the allegations published in the mill and later commissioned by the PWC Report of PWC reports by the university's fraud response panel,” mentioned a spokesman for the power.

In an announcement, a college spokesperson mentioned that suspension is a “precautionary measure and no perception of crime”.

House of Commons chief Lucy Powell informed MPs in March that police and Office for Students (OFS) have been investigating the “serious allegations” of racism, bullying and monetary misconduct on the University.

His remark was adopted by Bolton West Labor MP Phil Bricel, stating that he was approached by whistleblower with additional allegations about “practices” on the college.

A state assertion on Tuesday acknowledged: “The university was made aware of the findings of PWC, which after investigating the serious allegations raised in the media and later in Parliament.”

“The college has taken this step to make sure a good and clear course of.

“As the internal processes of the university, by incorporating all the relevant parties, now, we are not able to comment further until such cases are concluded.”

Dr. Greg Walker performed the position of performing Vice Chancellor and Interim Accountable Officer through the investigation.

In December, Bolton University modified its title to Greater Manchester University after approval from OFS.
