IPS officers applaud govt’s outreach to J&Okay, abrogation of Article 370

Fifteen retired IPS officers in an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi have lauded the federal government’s actions on Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the abrogation of Article 370.

The listing of officers contains former Jammu and Kashmir DGP SP Vaid, former Gujarat cadre IPS officer Geeta Johri and former interim CBI chief M Nageswara Rao. Of these, ten are former DGPs.

The letter termed the federal government’s actions as a “painful, courageous and decisive effort in attempting to resolve the complex Kashmir issue”.

The letter mentioned that the latest initiative of the central authorities to achieve out to political stakeholders to construct confidence is exemplary.
