Edinburgh -born businessman died peacefully at his home within the metropolis on Friday, his household mentioned.
He made the corporate on this planet's largest impartial tire and automotive chain, promoting it to Ford for £ 1BN in 1999.
Sir Tom owned a majority stake in Hibernian FC for greater than 20 years, promoting his curiosity within the membership in 2019.
Sir Tom was born in Lith in 1940 and first opened a tire enterprise in 1964.
He launched Quick Fit in 1971, ultimately labored at over 2,000 locations in 18 nations.
