Lauren Laverne has introduced she will probably be stepping down from BBC 6 Music's breakfast present after taking outing for most cancers therapy.
The presenter, who additionally hosts Radio 4's Desert Island Discs, will hand this system over to Nick Grimshaw, who has been protecting the seat heat since August.
However, Laverne would stay on the station, dealing with the mid-morning slot.
“Hosting the breakfast show for six amazing years has been a huge honor (and a lot of fun), but now the time has come for me to hand over the responsibility and set my alarm a little later,” the presenter stated in an announcement.
“As listeners will know, 2024 was really difficult for me and there were times when I was worried I wouldn't be able to return to the station I love so much.”
He added, “During my restoration I re-learned concerning the energy of music, the folks you encompass your self with and the emotional help and happiness that radio can present.
“I'm so grateful to be able to get back to what I love and share those things with my talented listeners every day.”
The broadcaster stated Mary Anne Hobbs, who at present presents 6 Music's mid-morning present, will take a sabbatical from the station and can return with a brand new present later within the spring.
Laverne, who started internet hosting the breakfast present in 2019, has progressively restarted her broadcasting profession following “successful” most cancers therapy final 12 months.

For this position he has interviewed such greats as Cillian Murphy, Steven Spielberg, Rebel Wilson, Delia Smith, Kate Mose and John Legend.
