A serious incident has been declared as a consequence of widespread flooding in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service mentioned it acquired greater than 200 calls on Monday morning.
Crews have attended incidents involving flooded automobiles, evacuations of residents from properties and rising water ranges.
At 11:48 GMT, the hearth service mentioned 17 members of the general public had been rescued up to now.
Assistant Chief Fire and Rescue Officer Judy Beresford mentioned: “Flooding poses a serious threat to life and property and we urge everyone to take these warnings seriously.
“Our control room and staff are working tirelessly to assist those in need and keep people safe.
“We are working with our partners to minimize the impact of this major event and ask the public to avoid flooded roads when traveling and never enter flood water.”
