Many in TMC in opposition to the return of turncoats; Party says not all oppose

A bit of the Trinamool Congress has opposed the withdrawal of leaders who had left the occasion to affix the BJP forward of the meeting elections. However, a senior TMC chief claimed on Tuesday that this resistance to bringing again the turncoats was not a “universal phenomenon”.

After Mukul Roy and his son returned to the Trinamool final Friday, a number of native leaders who left the occasion to affix the BJP have expressed their need to rejoin the ruling occasion. However, a bit of TMC leaders and employees are opposing the return of the turncoats. In Hooghly district, TMC employees are campaigning to forestall the re-entry of former Uttarpara MLA Prabir Ghoshal, who misplaced the election on a BJP ticket. In Noapara and Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas district, posters have been put up in protest in opposition to the return of Sunil Singh, brother-in-law of BJP MP Arjun Singh.

State Fire Minister Sujit Basu has opposed any risk of taking again Sabyasachi Dutta, who had contested in opposition to him. However, TMC MP Saugata Roy stated, “Protests in opposition to turncoats are usually not a common phenomenon. We have obtained reviews of protests at some locations. Mukul Roy’s case was totally different. Mamata Banerjee personally determined to take Mukul again. We haven’t but selected these proposals (to withdraw the others).”
