
An oil tanker and a cargo vessel collided within the North Sea, the Coastguard has stated.
A spokesman for HM Coastguard stated: “HM Coastguard is currently coordinating emergency response to a report of a tanker and cargo vessel from the coast of Eastern Yorkshire.
RNLI said that there were reports that “many individuals had left the ships after the collision and each ships had been on fireplace”.
The alarm was raised at 09:48 gmt and the incident is “operating”, spokesperson of an HM Coastguard.
A coastguard rescue helicopter from Humberside was called with lifots with nearby ships with nearby ships, Brijalthon, Mapthorpe and Clethorps, an HM Coastguard Fixed Wing Aircraft, and the ability to fight fire.
