The Bengal chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has filed a police grievance towards yoga guru Ramdev for his alleged remarks that a number of Covid-19 sufferers, together with docs, have died as fashionable medicines can not treatment the illness.

The group filed a grievance on the Sinthi police station in Kolkata, accusing Ramdev of making confusion among the many public with “misleading and false information” throughout the pandemic.

“Ramdev has said that due to modern medicine, more Covid patients are suffering and dying who cannot cure coronavirus. He has also said that more than 10,000 doctors have died even after taking both doses of the vaccine, which is absolutely wrong, ”the Bengal department of the IMA stated within the grievance lodged on Friday.

It added, “By spreading such misleading and false information, it is creating confusion during this epidemic, which is a serious crime.”

In a viral video clip, Ramdev might be heard saying that “millions of people have died by taking allopathic medicines for COVID-19.” He was additionally heard questioning among the medication getting used to deal with coronaviruses.

The remarks have been strongly opposed by the docs’ union, following which Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan requested him to withdraw his “extremely unfortunate” assertion. The yoga guru withdrew it on 23 May.

Earlier, the IMA stated that Ramdev’s remarks must be “treated as profane language” and a case must be registered below the Epidemic Diseases Act for deceptive folks by making “illiterate and uneducated” statements on them.

The yoga guru requested 25 questions from the IMA in an ‘open letter’ on his Twitter deal with on May 24, asking if allopathy provided everlasting aid for ailments reminiscent of hypertension and type-1 and a pair of diabetes.
