Rachel Hamilton has been appointed deputy chief of the Scottish Conservatives.
The social gathering's new chief Russell Findlay stated the Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire MSPs would play a “vital role” in reworking the social gathering.

Hamilton has served as an MSP since 2016 and has been the social gathering's spokesperson for Rural Affairs and the Islands since 2021.

She added: “Since he joined the Scottish Parliament in 2021, I have been impressed by how Russell tells it straight and speaks to people whose lives are not dominated by political bubble issues.
“After talking to my voters at the border, I came to know that many of them have lost faith in politics and that politicians do not understand them. Russell Findlay is different and is determined to change that.
“I’m excited to get to work and help show that the Scottish Conservatives will work for the people who want to see politicians talking common sense for change.”
Findlay stated his colleagues had at all times stood up for many who didn’t really feel represented by the SNP and Labour.
