Renault to be rebranded as Alpine for 2021 F1 season

Following the appointment of recent Renault Group CEO Luca de Meo earlier this yr, the French marque has undergone a overview of its varied manufacturers, together with its Alpine arm.

Renault formally introduced on Sunday forward of the Italian Grand Prix that its F1 operation can be referred to as Alpine F1 Team from the 2021.

The workforce will race in blue, representing the colors of France and working with the nationwide tricolore as Alpine-Renault.

De Meo mentioned in a press convention on Sunday that Renault wished to place Alpine on the center of the motorsport enterprise.

“It’s a big change because Renault has been around for 43 years,” mentioned de Meo.

“It will stay on the car but as an engine provider, so it will be visible.

“We will use F1 as a platform to market a brand that we want to develop in the house.

“Even if Renault is a glorious brand, the fit of Alpine in the F1 world will be even better.”

The rebrand follows an announcement earlier this week that F1 workforce principal Cyril Abiteboul can be heading up the Alpine enterprise, which he referred to as a “mission” that might be accomplished in tandem along with his F1 position.

It opened the door for a potential rebrand of the Renault F1 operation for 2021, however Abiteboul mentioned that was as much as de Meo to resolve.
