Samsung has determined to stop manufacturing at its solely TV manufacturing facility in China by the tip of November, a spokesman stated on Monday, the most recent in a collection of strikes by the South Korean agency to shift manufacturing from the world’s second-largest economic system.
The TV manufacturing facility in Tianjin is the one Samsung TV manufacturing base in China, the spokesman stated. The resolution is a part of “ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency” in its manufacturing amenities, Samsung stated in a press release earlier.
The manufacturing facility has about 300 staff, Yonhap information company reported on Monday. Samsung declined to touch upon the variety of staff, however stated among the staff and gear are anticipated to be retained.
The newest exit leaves Samsung in China with a house equipment manufacturing facility in Suzhou and chip manufacturing amenities in Suzhou and Xian.
The resolution follows Samsung’s show unit confirming individually final week that it’s promoting off a majority stake in its Suzhou liquid crystal show (LCD) manufacturing unit to TCL’s Star Optoelectronics Technology unit.
