Sexual harassment case filed towards senior official of Thiruvananthapuram airport

A case of sexual harassment has been registered towards a senior official of the Adani-run Thiruvananthapuram International Airport right here, following which the corporate has suspended him from service.

The Thumba police on Saturday registered a case towards Chief Airport Officer (CAO) Madhusudan Rao based mostly on a grievance by a girl worker working underneath him.

Police stated a case has been registered underneath varied provisions of the Indian Penal Code, together with part 376 (rape).
“As per the grievance, the incident befell on January 4. We have some proof towards him. Investigation is on. However, the accused isn’t at his residence right here and his cellphone is switched off.” PTI,

According to the grievance, the accused invited the sufferer to his house and tried to molest her.

Meanwhile, an airport spokesperson issued a press release confirming that they’ve obtained a grievance of sexual harassment from an worker and stated the corporate has zero tolerance for such habits.

“We have received a complaint of sexual harassment by an employee of Thiruvananthapuram airport. We have zero tolerance for such behavior. The safety and well-being of every employee is our top priority and we take this complaint very seriously. The employee has been immediately suspended from service,” the spokesperson stated.

The airport authority is doing an intensive evaluation of the details and can prolong full help to the investigation, the assertion stated.
