The 500,000th unit to be exported by Skoda Auto VW was a white Volkswagen Vento
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd. (SAVWIPL) exported its 500,000th made-in-India unit from the Mumbai port as we speak. The firm exports automobiles to each left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive markets from its Pune plant. The 500,000th automotive was on its option to Mexico from the Mumbai port. It is a white-coloured left hand drive Volkswagen Vento . The firm mentioned that it has continued with its exports even in the course of the world slowdown owing to the Coronavirus disaster. The automotive has been despatched as a part of a cargo of 982 vehicles that had been being shipped to Mexico and the corporate has exported over 25,000 vehicles in 2020 itself.

Gurpratap Boparai, Managing Director- SAVWIPL mentioned, “Exports are an integral part of our strategy and achieving five lakh units is a significant milestone for the company. Cars produced at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen manufacturing sites exemplify high quality standards we pursue globally and in India. Over the next years, we will be producing cars based on the new MBQ A0 IN platform with a high degree of localisation and will continue to explore exports markets for the India 2.0 products.”

At current, the corporate exports made-in-India vehicles to 61 international locations throughout South America, Central America, Africa, India – Sub Continent, Southeast Asia, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) international locations & Caribbean area. SAVWIPL began its exports program in 2010 with 65 models of the India-built Volkswagen Vento for South Africa market and since then has continued to develop incrementally to construct the ‘Made in India’ presence to 61 international locations. The export program helps the corporate to sustainably handle manufacturing volumes with a wholesome manufacturing share between home to export markets. The present 12 months exports account for nearly 45 per cent share of manufacturing.
