Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden has introduced she is to bear “another mastectomy this week”.
The 35-year-old mentioned the surgical procedure was “not to treat the new cancer diagnosis” however got here after an appointment along with her “incredible” medical workforce, including that she wished to be “candid” and “open” along with her followers.
In a put up on Instagram, alongside a video of him petting his canine, the Welsh star mentioned: “They are [the medical team] Trusting that everything is going well, I can look forward to a straight recovery.
“Once I have recovered I look forward to rejoining my Strictly family.”
She mentioned she would “undoubtedly” miss not being a part of the show but would “watch it from residence and look ahead to cheering everybody on”.
“Thank you always for the support,” Dowden said.
The dancer revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2023 after finding a lump in April, a day before leaving for the Maldives on her honeymoon with fellow professional dancer Ben Jones.
Following her diagnosis, Dowden had to have breast surgery and undergo chemotherapy, with her treatment preventing her from being able to compete with a celebrity partner on the BBC dance program that year.
Dowden documented her cancer experience online, and revealed in February 2024 that her latest health check found “no proof of illness”.
A few months later she returned to the dancefloor partnering former JLS star JB Gill.
However, she was forcefully forced out She was replaced by Lauren Oakley due to injury midway through the 20th Anniversary Series.
Dowden returned once again in this year's series, where she was partnered with former Apprentice contestant and social media star Thomas Skinner, who was eliminated in the second week.
