A council spokesman said that the increase in commercial rates was due to the government providing relief to RHL businesses with relief in their commercial rates in the last few years.
He said, “2023/24 and 2024/25 tax 12 months was set by the RHL aid authorities on 75% invoice of economic charges,” he mentioned.
“However, the extent of aid for the 2025/26 tax 12 months has been diminished by the federal government by 40%.”
