Ten Reform UK councilors in Derbyshire say they’ve resigned in protest at Nigel Farage's management.

The group claimed they needed to take the choice because of the “increasingly autocratic way” of operating the occasion, and stated they felt the occasion had “lost its sense of direction” since Farage turned chief.

The chief of the Derbyshire group, Alex Stevenson, was suspended as a member in December pending an inner investigation.

In a press release seen by the BBC and first reported by the Guardian, the group stated: “We believe that the current party management is either incompetent or malicious, and we have lost all confidence in the leadership and its structures.”

The ten signatories embody Councilor Stevenson and 9 others, who maintain a mixture of seats at county, metropolis and parish stage.

Nine of the ten look like standing on Heanor and Losco Town Council in Derbyshire.

He stated he had voted in opposition to the occasion's structure adopted within the autumn and that “the lack of internal democracy remains a significant issue”.

The signatories stated: “We have not taken any meaningful steps towards democratizing the party, which we were promised.”

Councilors supported former co-deputy chief Ben Habib, who they are saying has been “unofficially sidelined”.

In a press release on X, Reform UK chair Zia Yousaf stated: “The leader of this group of “councillors” was suspended by Reform weeks ago for nominating candidates who failed scrutiny. [and] Fraudulently nominating candidates with invalid DNO certificate.

“because of [the latter]Many of those 'councillors' are unlawful and new elections must be held. “Reformation embodies the highest standards in public life, and those who commit fraud will always be expelled.”

This comes after US tech billionaire Elon Musk referred to as Farage “It's not what I want” to steer the occasion – however he didn’t clarify his reasoning.
