One of Britain's oldest Royal Navy veterans has celebrated his 102nd birthday.
Sergeant Jeffrey Broadhurst is likely one of the nation's oldest marines and one of many final surviving members of Taunton-based 40 Commando, which fought within the Second World War.
The Royal Marines Band from HMS Collingwood shocked them with a special occasion crammed with classical music at a care dwelling in Fareham, Hampshire.
When requested how she felt about celebrating her birthday, she laughed and mentioned: “Not much different than my 101st birthday, except it was a bigger celebration!”
