After a grueling three units within the second spherical of the Paris Masters, Stan Wawrinka despatched a powerful message to Holger Rune.

Holger Rune saved three match factors in a 4-6, 7-5, 7-6(3) win over Stan Wawrinka.
Rune misplaced the opening set towards Wawrinka on the late break, and the Swiss once more threatened a decisive closing blow at 5–4 within the second. But Rune saved two match factors and began three straight video games and compelled a decider. There was only one break level on supply within the closing set, and it doubled as a match level, with Rune working to outlive on 5-6.
The 19-year-old was decided to carry on to his final eight service factors by working away with a tie-break and received.
Rune will face tenth seed Hubert Herkaz on Wednesday.
