Ysgol Siar Hugh Owen: Caernarfon college closes dinners after rats present in kitchen

Cooked dinners on the college have been suspended after rats had been discovered roaming across the college kitchen.

Parents of pupils at Ysgol Caer Hugh Owen in Caernarfon, Gwynedd had been advised the invention was “obviously of concern for the health and safety of our pupils”.

Head instructor Clive Thomas stated in a letter that packed lunches can be supplied by the college to pupils till the scenario was “fully resolved”.

“We want to assure you that we are taking this matter very seriously,” he stated.

Ysgol Seir Hugh Owen is a bilingual secondary college with a complete of 875 college students between the ages of 11–18.

In his letter, Mr Thomas wrote: “The college is working intently with the native authority to resolve this concern.

“We appreciate your understanding and support as we deal with this situation.”
