17 individuals died in a head-on collision between a bus and a tempo in Kanpur district on Tuesday night. Four individuals have been critically injured on this accident that happened at round 8.30 am close to Sachendi police station space. Police stated the injured are being handled at Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital (Hallet Hospital) in Kanpur.
“There was a collision between two autos, after which the bus overturned. The bus was coming from Lucknow and was going in direction of Delhi. Kanpur (Range) Inspector General Mohit Agarwal stated that the 4 injured individuals are present process therapy on the hospital.
“The survivors said that they are from Sachendi area of Kanpur and work in a biscuit factory. They were on their way to work in the tempo when the accident happened,” stated the IG.
The IG stated an in depth inquiry can be performed to determine the reason for the accident.
Kanpur Police Commissioner Aseem Arun stated that the non-public bus was taking laborers from Unnao in UP to Gujarat. “Most of the seriously injured passengers were traveling in tempo,” Arun stated.
“As soon as we got to know about the accident, our teams from two police stations reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. The injured were taken to the hospital. On arrival, the doctors declared 10 people dead, while the remaining seven died during treatment. The condition of the injured is critical,” stated a senior police officer.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the accident and directed senior officers to make sure speedy rescue and therapy of the injured. He expressed grief over the accident and introduced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh every to the kin of the deceased. The CM additionally directed the district administration to analyze the reason for the accident and submit a report back to them.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced compensation for the lifeless and injured. The Prime Minister’s Office wrote in a tweet, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs. 2 lakhs from PMNRF for the next of kin of those who lost their lives due to a tragic accident in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Rupee. 50,000 will be provided to the injured. “
