A complete of 231 instances of Zika virus have been reported from the states of Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Maharashtra this yr, the Rajya Sabha was knowledgeable on Tuesday.

Pawar mentioned that 83 instances have been reported from Kerala and one from Maharashtra.

The minister mentioned that 147 instances have been registered in 4 districts of Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur (139), Lucknow (6), Unnao (1) and Kannauj (1).

Pawar mentioned the vector management actions have been reviewed and intensified as per the rules of the National Center for Vector Borne Disease Control and advisories have been issued to boost consciousness about these actions.
