Seven folks, together with two minors, have been arrested for the gang rape of a 26-year-old software program engineer in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district.
He mentioned the arrests have been made after questioning some locals who frequent a secluded spot close to the outdated airport in Chaibasa, the place the incident passed off.
The incident passed off when a girl working in a well known IT firm had gone out on a two-wheeler along with her lover on Thursday night. Police mentioned a bunch of individuals stopped the couple, thrashed them and took the lady to a secluded place close by, allegedly raping her.
Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar mentioned that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to probe the case has made the arrests.
The girl’s pockets and cell phone have been recovered from the arrested individuals, he mentioned.
After the rape, the accused left her there and fled. An officer mentioned that as she was on her approach again from the spot, a police van noticed her and narrated the whole incident to them.
They mentioned they took him to the hospital and began investigation.
The girl is right here for the reason that outbreak of the pandemic as she is working from her dwelling.
