At least 575 cops of Pune metropolis police, who’re within the ranks of constable and havaldar, have been given one step promotion.
Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta had fashioned a committee comprising Additional Commissioner of Police Jalinder Supekar, Deputy Commissioner of Police Swapna Gore, Assistant Commissioner of Police Machindra Chavan and Administrative Officer Shashikala Bhalchim to advertise constable rank police personnel as Havildars.
A press launch issued by the Pune City Police stated that as per the advice of the committee, 200 Police Havildars have been promoted to Assistant Sub-Inspector, 249 Police Naiks have been promoted to Havildars and 126 Constables have been promoted to Police Naiks on June 23. was finished.
