Retired Havildar Mahadev Shinde of Pune Police, who saved many lives after the Panshet dam burst in 1962, handed away as a consequence of previous age issues. He was 88 and is survived by his spouse and two sons.
Shinde, who lived within the Kasarwadi space of Pimpri-Chinchwad for a very long time, was within the Vanavwadi police on the time of the destruction of the Panshet dam in 1962. “Many areas of Pune city were flooded with water.
