The inaugural version of the Bengal Women’s T20 Blast noticed 90 proficient ladies’s cricketers from totally different age teams being picked into 6 groups on the gamers’ draft course of at Eden Gardens.
The first ever gamers’ draft for ladies’s cricket began with the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Avishek Dalmiya’s inaugural deal with with representatives from the respective groups being current. CAB joint secretary Debabrata Das, tour, fixture & technical committee chairman Subhankar Ghosh Dastidar, gamers’ benevolent and profit fund committee chairman Santanu Mitra, ladies’s nationwide selector Mithu Mukherjee, ladies’s cricket committee chairman Shyama Dey (Shaw), ladies’s choice committee chairman Chandana Mukherjee and BCCI match referee Moumita Chakraborty had been additionally current.

Dalmiya stated, “We are very happy to resume our local tournaments which were stalled because of the recent Covid-19 surge. We have been contemplating over the last few years that club cricket in the women’s segment must begin. We tried to start this tournament last season but due to Covid, it had to be cancelled. This is not going to be a one-off tournament and we will be working keenly to make it better each passing year.”
“We could not manage the match at Eden Gardens this time as we’ve worldwide matches developing. The pool was created on the idea of the gamers’ statistics so that there is full transparency. Women’s cricket within the nation is progressing and this match will put together our ladies for any nationwide stage premiere T20 match. The match will probably be streamed reside on Fancode and we goal to make it greater within the coming years,” he added.
The match will begin from February 7 at BCA Kalyani and can conclude on February 23. All the matches will probably be streamed reside on Fancode app.
