The Congress on Sunday hit out on the Center for motion towards the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation (RGF) and the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust (RGCT), saying the transfer was geared toward diverting public consideration from the core points going through the nation.
The authorities has canceled the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) licenses of RGF and RGCT – two NGOs headed by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi – for alleged violation of legal guidelines, officers mentioned on Sunday.
“They (Centre) reiterate the old allegations against RGF and RGCT. This is to defame the Congress and divert public attention from day-to-day issues,” mentioned Jairam Ramesh, Congress basic secretary, communications.
He mentioned the financial system is in serious trouble attributable to rising costs, unemployment and falling rupee.
