After MHA, Health Ministry tells states about ‘clear’ Covid norms violations

A day after an identical message by the house ministry, the well being ministry on Thursday flagged “gross violations” of COVID-19 norms at a number of locations, particularly hill stations, and requested states and union territories to observe the rules. reminded to make sure strict adherence.

Health secretary Rajesh Bhushan on Thursday wrote to further chief secretaries, principal secretaries and state well being secretaries, saying the method of easing guidelines needs to be “carefully calibrated”.

Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla on Wednesday wrote to all chief secretaries asking states to keep up the COVID protocol, pointing to the June 29 directive of the Ministry of Home Affairs on motion to be taken for Covid-19 administration.

“Huge crowds are also gathering at market places, violating social distancing norms. As a result, the increase in the ‘R’ factor (reproductive number) is a matter of concern in some states. You must be aware that an increase of ‘R’ factor above 1.0 is an indicator of the spread of Kovid-19. Therefore, it is important that the concerned authorities are made responsible for ensuring proper handling of COVID at all crowded places…. Also in all areas identified as hotspots of transmission of the COVID-19 virus,” Bhushan wrote.

He mentioned that any institution or market which doesn’t observe these norms will face motion.

Bhushan harassed that the second wave of COVID just isn’t over but and vigorous testing must be continued together with identification of lively circumstances.

Echoing the phrases of the Home Secretary, Health Secretary Bhushan requested the States and Union Territories to make the involved authorities personally accountable “for any laxity” within the enforcement of the protocol.
