The Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on Tuesday signed 5 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for pilot tasks with 5 personal firms – Cisco, Ninjakart, Jio Platforms Limited, ITC Limited and NCDEX E-Markets Limited (NEML).

According to the Agriculture Ministry, Jio Platforms Limited will conduct its pilot challenge to mentor farmers in two districts of Maharashtra- Jalna and Nashik. ITC Limited has signed a MoU to create a “customized ‘Site Specific Crop Advisory’ service.”

Sharing particulars concerning the MoU signed with ITC Ltd, the ministry stated, “The proposal will be implemented in identified villages of Sehore and Vidisha districts of Madhya Pradesh and will support wheat crop operations.”

According to the ministry, Cisco will “envision proof of concept in effective knowledge sharing among farmers, administration, academia and industry” in two districts- Kaithal (Haryana) and Morena (Madhya Pradesh).

Under its MoU with the ministry, NCDEX e Markets Limited (NEML) is engaged on 4 services- market linkage, aggregation of demand, monetary linkage and knowledge sanitization- in three districts-Guntur (Andhra Pradesh), Devanagare (Karnataka) and Nashik. Will do (Maharashtra).
