On the fiftieth anniversary of the hit movie Bombay to Goa, actors Aruna Irani and Anwar Ali recalled anecdotes from the movie. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, the movie was launched in 1972, and established Bachchan as a star. The actor was very nervous about capturing the track “Dil Tera Hai Mai Bhi Teri Hu Sanam” within the movie, Anwar Ali informed The Times of India. So nervous, in actual fact, that he had a sleepless evening.

“Amitabh tossed and turned unable to sleep,” Anwar mentioned. When he requested Bachchan what was troubling him, the actor replied, “Bhidu, tomorrow morning I will be singing and dancing before the camera for the very first time… I don’t know what will happen.” Anwar Ali reassured him that every part can be wonderful, and went to mattress. But Bachchan stayed up all evening.

Aruna recalled how neither her nor Bachchan had been thought-about good dancers on the time, however choreographer PL Raj was a ‘robust task-master’ who made them slog throughout rehearsals. “All that effort resulted within the ultimate final result, which was so impactful. Particularly in my favourite duet track ‘Dil Tera Hai Main Bhi’, composed so superbly by genius RD Burman,” she said. There was another song, titled “Tum Meri Zindagi Mein,” which was deleted from the movie as a result of the director felt that the track, which had even been shot, was affecting the momentum of the story.

Bachchan has tailored and developed a number of occasions through the years. After establishing himself as an motion hero, and and angst-ridden youth in his early days, he re-emerged as a powerful supporting presence some a long time later. He has now settled into elder statesman roles. His newest movie is Jhund, a socially aware sports activities drama. His upcoming slate contains Brahmastra, Mayday, The Intern remake and extra.
