Senior Congress chief P Chidambaram on Thursday took a dig on the Center over 10,000 vacant educating positions in central universities, IITs and IIMs, calling it “another year-end gift from the Modi government”.
In a written reply to a query within the Rajya Sabha, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday mentioned that 6,535 full-time educating posts in central universities, 403 in IIMs and three,876 in IITs have been vacant.
Attacking the federal government, Chidambaram mentioned, “Another year-end present from the Modi authorities: over 10,000 educating posts are vacant in central universities, IITs and IIMs. Out of those 4126 are reserved for SC, ST and OBC.
“We thought that teaching through teachers was their primary objective. I wonder what these institutions do without enough teachers,” the previous Union minister mentioned on Twitter.
