Former India batsman and coach Anshuman Gaekwad had a memorable seventieth birthday as six of his contemporaries got here to his residence in Vadodara on September 23 to have a good time the event.
Mohinder Amarnath, Dilip Vengsarkar, Karsan Ghavri, Yajurwinder Singh, Bharat Reddy and Roger Binny participated within the two-day occasion and relived the nostalgia of the previous.
Gaikwad advised Indian Express: “It was great to meet all of them, I continue to meet Karsan and Dileep as they are closer in Mumbai, but I met other people after eight years or more, we had lunch and dinner and lunch. Gaikwad stated that two different pals Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri couldn’t make it attributable to private {and professional} incidents. “We missed Sunny (Gavaskar) and Ravi. Anshuman Gaikwad performed 40 Tests and 15 ODIs for India in his profession from 1971 to 1987.
He was a daring opener who was recognized for his endurance. He has two Test centuries to his title, together with a well-known 201 towards Pakistan, for which he batted for 671 minutes. It was then the slowest first-class double century. He performed for Baroda within the home circuit and has over 12,000 first-class runs to his title, together with 34 centuries.
