Anti-India graffiti by Canadian Khalistani extremists on Swaminarayan Temple in Toronto;  India raised subject with Canada

A distinguished Hindu temple has been defaced with anti-India graffiti by “Canadian Khalistani extremists” in an obvious hate crime right here, prompting the Indian mission right here to sentence the incident and urge authorities to take swift motion towards the perpetrators.

The timing of the incident at BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Toronto will not be but identified.

The High Commission of India tweeted on Wednesday, “We strongly condemn the replacement of BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir Toronto with anti-India graffiti. I request the Canadian authorities to investigate the incident and take swift action against the perpetrators.” Canadian MP Chandra Arya tweeted, “The vandalism of Toronto BAPS Shree Swaminarayan Mandir by Canadian Khalistani extremists should be condemned by all. This is not only a single incident. Hindu temples in Canada have been focused by such hate crimes in latest occasions. Hindu Canadians are legally
associated.

Meanwhile, Brampton South Member of Parliament Sonia Sidhu expressed grief over the incident and tweeted, “I am disturbed by the act of vandalism at #BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Toronto.” “We live in a multicultural and multi-faith community where everyone deserves to feel safe. Those responsible must be located to face the consequences of their actions,” she tweeted.
