Amid the rumours, filmmaker Anubhav Sinha on Twitter lauded Kartik for sustaining dignified silence and referred to as the “campaign” towards the actor “very bloody inappropriate”.
Sinha tweeted, “And by the way… when producers leave actors or vice versa they don’t talk about it. It happens all the time. This campaign against Kartik Aaryan seems solid and very unfair to me. . I respect his silence.”

After Kartik pulled out of Dostana 2 resulting from “professional circumstances”, it was rumored that he was dropped from Shah Rukh’s manufacturing Freddy. There had been rumors that the actor was additionally dropped from Aanand L Rai’s upcoming movie and was changed by Ayushmann Khurrana. However, Rai’s manufacturing firm referred to as the rumours “baseless”.
