Army Day: PM Modi pays tribute to Army; Chiefs of the three armies lay wreath on the conflict memorial

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tributes to the Indian Army, its troopers, veterans and their households on the event of Army Day.

Army Day is widely known yearly on 15 January to commemorate Field Marshal Kodandera M Cariappa, who took over from General Sir Francis Butcher to grow to be the primary Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army.

The Prime Minister lauded the forces for his or her “bravery and professionalism”, including that “words cannot do justice to the invaluable contribution of the Indian Army to national security”.

“Indian Army personnel serve in hostile terrain and are on the forefront of serving to fellow civilians throughout humanitarian disaster together with pure calamities. India is happy with the Army’s stellar contribution to peacekeeping operations overseas too,” PM Modi stated in a tweet.

Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane conveyed his greatest needs to all Indian Army troopers admiring “their supreme sacrifice and unparalleled commitment along the Line of Control”.

General Naravane stated in an official letter, “Despite the twin challenges of the pandemic and developments on the northern frontier, the Indian Army has resolutely protected the territorial integrity of the national side while maintaining peace and security.”

To mark the event, the Chiefs of the three Services, General Naravane (Army), Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary (Air Force), and Admiral R Hari Kumar (Navy) paid tribute on the National War Memorial in New Delhi.

Describing the forces as “courageous and professional”, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh prolonged his greatest needs to the Indian Army personnel and their households. He stated, ‘The nation is happy with the Indian Army.
