Ashwin not taking part in in 11 for Oval Test, Kohli made two adjustments

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s wait to play his first match of the collection continued as India accompanied spin all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for the fourth Test towards England at The Oval.

England captain Joe Root received the toss and elected to subject and either side made two adjustments for the match at The Oval on Thursday. When requested about his determination, Indian skipper Virat Kohli mentioned, “England got four left-handers and we thought it was a good matchup for Jadeja”. Also the stability he’s giving us with the bat.

The Indian captain additionally mentioned, “We would have bowled first but the toss is not something you can control. You need to be prepared for both. We are looking forward to scoring runs on the board. Two changes – Ishant and Shami have trouble swallowing – Umesh and Shardul are back. For us, it’s about partnership, we can’t focus too much on individuals. Opening partnerships has been good, it’s about getting more partnerships. We have a few days left on this tour, the series is well prepared and our effort is not going to go down.”

The hosts, who leveled the five-Test collection 1-1 with an innings win within the third match at Headingley, welcomed all-rounder Chris Woakes and middle-order batsman Olly Pope.

Sam Curran was dropped, whereas wicketkeeper Jos Buttler missed the match to attend the delivery of his second youngster. Jonny Bairstow will do the wicketkeeping in Buttler’s absence. Root mentioned after the toss, ‘We will attempt to make the most of the higher circumstances, it seems like a great morning to bowl.

India had been pressured to make two adjustments with Umesh Yadav and Shardul Thakur changing injured pacers Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma.
