Australia opener David Warner has expressed concern for the way forward for Test cricket, with budding gamers specializing in “short term” pursuits as profitable T20 leagues proliferate globally.
Warner, who has performed 101 Tests and over 200 limited-overs internationals, stated he had tried to impress upon youthful teammates, together with Sydney Thunder expertise Oliver Davies, on the significance of the longest format.
“I was speaking to (Davis) the other day. He likes to play white-ball cricket, I can’t see him playing red-ball cricket anytime soon.”
“If he units his thoughts to it, he can undoubtedly play.
“But I’m just a little bit fearful of what’s going to occur within the subsequent 5 to 10 years, the place cricket is basically going to develop.
“I would love for people coming to play red-ball cricket and play Test cricket because that is the legacy you should leave behind.”
