Bajrang Dal activist stabbed to dying in Karnataka’s Shivamogga; prohibitory orders clamped

A 26-year-old Bajrang Dal activist was allegedly killed on Sunday evening within the Shivamogga district of Karnataka, police mentioned on Monday, prompting authorities to clamp prohibitory orders and announce a vacation for colleges and faculties.

The deceased has been recognized as Harsha, a tailor from the Seegehatti space in Shivamogga district, 270km from the state capital of Bengaluru. The assault occurred round 9.30 pm and a number of other automobiles had been set on fireplace after the killing.

The police are but to substantiate the rationale behind the homicide. They mentioned that Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) has been clamped in Shivamogga metropolis and colleges and faculties have declared vacation on Monday.

Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra, who visited the activist’s household on Monday morning, mentioned the incident is unlucky and that the police are investigating the case. “We are yet to know the reason behind his death,” he added.
