1988 IPS officer Balaji Srivastava was on Tuesday given the extra cost of Delhi Police Commissioner. He is at the moment serving as Special CP (Vigilance) in Delhi Police and was earlier posted as DG (Mizoram).
This step has been taken after the present Commissioner of Delhi Police SN Srivastava retired on Wednesday. Shrivastava’s title was finalized as the following Delhi Police Commissioner by the Union Home Ministry.
An order issued by Deputy Secretary (Services) BG Krishnan on Tuesday stated, “After the retirement of SN Srivastava, the Commissioner of Delhi Police, Balaji Srivastava, will maintain the extra cost of the Commissioner of Police, Delhi. Till the appointment of a daily incumbent or Charges until additional orders, whichever is earlier.
