Biocon chief Mazumdar-Shaw donates Rs 5 cr to ILSF for pandemic analysis

Bengaluru-based Ignite Life Science Foundation (ILSF) has obtained a donation of Rs 5 crore from Dr Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Founder and Executive Chairman, Biocon Ltd.

The Foundation plans to make use of the donation to fund analysis initiatives on ‘Pandemic Preparedness’, which is deliberate as a supporting effort to fight future pandemics.

ILSF was established to create an ecosystem to pursue scientific analysis within the nation. The Foundation selects initiatives that search to handle India’s issues primarily by way of a multidisciplinary method and collaboration between scientists, coverage makers and all stakeholders.

“I am delighted to support ILSF in its effort to catalyze promising work by Indian researchers, which will enable their contributions to be part of the global ecosystem of advanced health solutions,” stated Shaw.

ILSF CEO Swami Subramaniam stated that this contribution will assist the Foundation construct proof of ideas (initiatives) in the direction of creating pro-environmental scientific analysis.
