Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday started the get together’s 3,570-km-long “Bharat Jodi Yatra” from Kanyakumari, saying lakhs of Indians felt the necessity to unite the nation.

“Millions of people feel that action needs to be taken to bring India together. Every institution is under attack by RSS and BJP. They think they can divide India on religious lines,” stated Rahul Gandhi whereas addressing a rally in Kanyakumari.

He continued: “The tricolor There are not just three colors and a circle on a piece of cloth. It is much more than that. The tricolor was earned by the people of India who belong to every religion and culture. Our tricolor guarantees the right to follow any religion of our choice, but today this flag is under attack.”

Earlier within the day, Rahul Gandhi paid tribute on the Sriperumbudur memorial close to Chennai, the place his father Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated in 1991. The yatra is being projected by the get together because the longest rally within the nation within the final century.
