Germany’s BMW might be prepared for any restrictions on inner combustion engine (ICE) vehicles from 2030 with the provide of electrical automobiles, chief govt Oliver Gipps mentioned on Tuesday.
The European Union has proposed an efficient ban on fossil gas vehicles from 2035 as a part of a complete package deal of measures to fight world warming.
“We will be ready for an ICE-ban. If any region, city, country comes up with an idea to ban ICE, we have an offer,” Gippes advised a convention within the metropolis of Neuertingen, close to Stuttgart.
“The BMW Group is not concerned about this. Whether it is a good idea is another question … but we will have an offer.”
Unlike rivals together with Volkswagen and General Motors, BMW has not set an finish date for manufacturing of ICE vehicles.
